February 10 and 11, 2007

We go to Sutton, New Hampshire for a relaxing weekend at the Follensbee Inn on Kesar Lake.

Jason gets ready to go on an adventure.

Jason treks across the lake, in brand-new snowshoes.

In some spots, the wind had blown away the snow, and we could see the ice. There were many cracks in the ice. But we felt safe walking across the lake, because the ice looked to be more than one foot thick, and other people were driving little vehicles across the lake.
Not to mention the fact that our weight was distributed over a larger area because of the snowshoes.

Alayne walks up to an old shack that we find in the woods.

Our new snowshoes.

On Sunday, we stop at a Buffalo Farm. While the majority of the herd is out to pasture, some young calfs are here for us to see.
Alayne is excited to finally meet a real-life buffalo.

A buffalo comes to say "hello" (in a sort of passive buffalo manner).

After saying hello, this particular buffalo felt rather comfortable with us and went about his (her?) business.

A photo of another buffalo.

This one also came up to us to say hello.

After leaving the Buffalo, we pass by another place that looks like a good place to stop.

Alayne certainly found a lot of good stuff here.

It was a short trip, but quite relaxing and we felt well-rested afterwards. We will most likely return to the Follensbee Inn for another weekend retreat in the future.
