September 11, 2005

On Sunday September 11, 2005, we woke up very early to catch the ferry to Nova Scotia. When we arrived in Yarmouth, we had a quick lunch and then started our drive. We took the scenic "lighthouse route" along the southern coast of Nova Scotia. In mid-afternoon, we arrived at Thomas Raddall Provincial Park, setup camp, walked along the beach in the provincial park, and then went into "town" for dinner and to avoid the mosquitoes.

Jason has his hood up because it is windy and chilly outside.

The motors onboard "The Cat" move the equivalent of an olympic size swimming pool every 33 seconds!

Our first stop after leaving Yarmouth, Nova Scotia. This was the end of the road.

Alayne walks around the camp area for night two.
"There seems to be a lot of mosquitoes around here."

A short walk from the camping area to this lovely beach on the Atlantic Ocean.

Alayne stands at the edge of the beach, happy to have escaped from the mosquitoes.

Alayne frantically kills mosquitoes that have followed us onto the beach.

Alayne walks in ankle deep water.
The water is not that cold, but it is salt water none-the-less.

The lady told us that there were seals that lived on these beaches.
Where are the seals at, yo?

Unfortunately, we did not see any seals on our trip.
